• Introduction

  I am a Half-Round Washi Paper Pendant Lamp Shade. A soft glowing light diffuses through me when the light flickers on - I transform into a shape that many look with awe upon.

   

• Curator's Notes 

   

  This pendant shade, part of designer Rina Ono’s lighting collection for Hayashi Kougei, is made from traditional Japanese washi paper. There are so many things to love about it! It’s incredibly well crafted – from the same area as most of our washi paper products in the Gifu prefecture – and it emits a very diffused light through the paper, giving everything around a soft glow. I was also drawn to the collection because of the exquisite forms the pendants are available in.
