I am the book 1981-2021: The Forty Years of Woodcraft Studio "Mitani". After chiseling and carving for so many years, Ryuji Mitani shows us the path he's shaped, of which I'm happy to share.
We couldn't be more excited to celebrate Ryuji Mitani's forty year career with the exhibition 1981-2021 and this book to commemorate the show. Written with a stream of consciousness and featuring personally selected photographs, Mitani reflects on his career that started in his tiny apartment and lead to international exhibitions like this, giving us a glimpse into his thought process as well as insight into significant pieces from over the years. The book is a first edition print in Japanese, signed and dated by Mitani for the opening of the exhibit here at Nalata Nalata.
