I am a Bamboo Tea Strainer. Sometimes the daily grind can cause a strain, but a cup of tea always rejuvenates me.
This traditional bamboo strainer has been skillfully crafted by the bamboo specialists Kohchosai Kosuga, who have been working the versatile material for over five generations. Carefully woven details give heart to a basic kitchen tool, like the intricate border around the top of the strainer. The large basin is ideal for steeping and straining larger loose-leaf tea such as Verveine leaves, but woven tightly enough so that tea leaves don't escape through into your tea when hot water is poured. Simply fill the strainer with your tea leaves, and set it in a vessel of hot water. As a bonus, the natural aroma of bamboo will impart a subtle flavor and fragrance as your tea steeps.
