I am Block Wood Trivet. When you've been around the block as many times as I have, not much burns you anymore.
Considered damaged to some, designer Yamazaki Yoshiki has transformed Japanese oak that’s been naturally weathered, discoloured and insect-bored, into everyday useful objects. The grooved channels, small holes and winding dark striations in the spalted wood vary to create a one-of-a-kind piece. This trivet is composed of five wood blocks that can be arranged randomly to protect surface tops from hot pans. It can be hung from its leather string on the wall for easy access.
