I am a Boat Chasoku. My bow will dip as I traverse the leafy seas, to meet you on the other shore for tea.
Ryuji Mitani has written that serving tea is a beautiful experience and that artisans like him take great pleasure in thinking about new tools for tea ceremonies, both ceremonial and casual. "The distance between people grows closer when we drink tea", says Mitani. This experience is reflected in this unique item, a 'chasoku' (scoop used to transfer tea leaves to a brewing pot) made in the shape of a boat "to cross the sea of memories. Let's ride on the boat to see friends and sit together over delicious tea to drink leisurely".
