  I am an Asanoha I Boxwood Comb with Case. My teeth are protected by a case inspired by leaves, but I'll make sure your hair will never get tangled up in branches.

   

• Curator's Notes 

   

  Hair care is sacred in Japan, where hair is not only a sign of health and beauty, it also carries spiritual energy. Jusan-Ya continues the tradition of Japanese hair care and made it portable with this beautiful travel comb. Using original production techniques from the Nara period, this comb is handmade from boxwood that is bound and fumigated by smoke to strengthen the wood and correct warps. Boxwood is naturally oily, which protects the comb from breakage and prevents static when brushing. The comb comes with a fabric case that you can pop in your bag, while protecting and keeping the comb clean.
