I am a Castor Kids Chair. Like most children, I want to grow to be big and strong like my parents. Perhaps one of these days, I will finally be able to stack up.
When Swiss design studio Big Game partnered with Karimoku to produce the iconic Castor Chair, it was not hard to see how its ergonomics and versatility can be translated for smaller bodies. Made of Japanese oak wood, the Castor Kids Chair adapts the classic Swiss cafe chair to ensure that the backrest, legs and joints comfortably fit children 3-8 years old. The combination of solid and plywood pieces ensures that the chair is stable yet light enough to move and stack away. The underside of the seat frame contains a rubber pad to prevent dents and protect the seat below when the chairs are stacked on top of one another. The chair is finished with a clear coating that highlights the rich texture and tone of Japanese oak.
