I am a Cedar Slat Bench. I enjoy a good conversation, but I let the cedar do most of the talking.
What drew us to this bench immediately was its size and the cedar. Large furniture pieces made entirely from cedar are surprisingly uncommon, and this one showcases everything we love about the material. The color is warm without feeling heavy, and the straight grain runs uninterrupted across the form in a way that is incredibly satisfying to look at. For something this substantial, it’s also remarkably light, while still feeling structurally strong and dependable.
Part of Time & Style's Stone Garden series, the design is simple enough to let the material speak for itself amongst an outdoor garden or indoors. Every joint, edge, and proportion feels carefully considered. There’s a clarity to it that feels distinctly Japanese, yet it would fit comfortably in almost any interior.
Though designed as a bench, we could just as easily imagine it as a coffee table. The proportions lend themselves naturally to both, and we suspect most owners will find their own use for it over time. Whatever role it takes on, the cedar remains the star.
