I am a Clock. I take my job of keeping time seriously, even if I appear to be melting. Salvador Dalí would approve.
Inspired by Aino Aalto's Riihitie Plant Pot A, this leather clock is shaped using a traditional wet-forming technique over a 3D-printed mold. There's something wonderfully surreal about its form, with the leather appearing to drip over the edges, almost like one of Salvador Dalí's melting clocks. I particularly love the idea of a clock made from vegetable-tanned leather. While its hands mark the passing hours, the leather itself records the passage of time, gradually changing in color and character with age.
