The door is the most prominent architectural element separating space, and yet we often overlook the component that makes it function. Matureware's beautiful door hinges draw our attention to this oft-ignored hardware to consider the mechanics of how a door opens and closes. Made of sand casted brass for a highly textured surface, these hinges will develop a handsome patina over time with use and exposure to the elements. The hinges come in two shapes: the French hinge creates a diamond shape when closed, akin to jewelry adorning the door; and the flat hinge (available in size small or large) folds into a sleek and minimal bar, creating a subtle highlight for the doorway.
The French hinge is available in two different styles for either left swinging or right swinging doors.

- 1 hinge is included per order. Please order quantity depending on installation requirements of the door
- Brass slotted (minus) screws included
- Choose between left or right hinge depending on the opening direction of the door. Please refer to diagrams
- Tested by opening and closing 50kg, 3-hinge doors 100,000 times
- Cut mortise to fit the hinge
- Hinges have brass flathead screws. Drill screw holes before attaching the hinges. Do not over tighten screws, as this may cause them to break
- Brass products gradually change color over time due to oxidation
- A caramel colored patina is expected to develop within 5 years
- A russet brown colored patina is expected to develop at approximately 30 years
