This piece is the Futon Floor Pad, sitting directly on the ground and forming the foundation of the bed, with the \u003ca rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/shop.nalatanalata.com\/products\/camel-hair-mattress-pad\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eCamel Hair Mattress Pad\u003c\/a\u003e layered above.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIwata has traditionally produced these at 7cm for use on tatami floors in Japan, which has a natural softness. In North America, where floors are typically wood, tile, or concrete, that same thickness can feel insufficient. We worked with Iwata to develop a 10cm version so it can be used more comfortably across a wider range of spaces.
