  It’s so satisfying to me when I find a kitchen tool that has been thoughtfully designed for a specific purpose. Makoto Koizumi, with his deep sensitivity to the rhythm of everyday life, has designed this grater for use especially with ginger. The rough porcelain surface easily reduces ginger to a spicy pulp. The surrounding basin conveniently catches the grated ginger, minimizing mess and waste. Also, the piece looks great on your countertop—no need to hide away!
