I am a Gohanbitu Rice Chest. The beauty lies within the grain. With a little work and patience you will find the treasure.
The Gohanbitu Rice Chest is used as a container for keeping steamed rice warm at the table. Hatashikki’s handcrafted pieces combine traditional Japanese woodcraft and urushi lacquer techniques with modern designs. The Gohanbitu is a prime example of their approach to design with it's unique zelkova wood grain that shines through a saturated red hue lacquer. As much as we try to accurately showcase a product through our photography online, we have to say that these images don’t do it justice. The Gohanbitu is such a showstopper and even more beautiful in person!
