Hatashikki and Mute Studio combine forces to create a colorful series of containers that emanate traditional Japanese craft techniques and modern design. The straightforward shapes and charming colors lend well to the natural grain of castor aralia wood that is faintly visible through the lacquered exteriors of each container. The wide red “Hako” containers align nicely when multiples are stacked and feature a food safe urethane coating making them suitable for food storage. They’re also great for organizing small household objects and mementos.
