• Introduction

  I am a Kuro-Mura Star Shadow Pendant Lamp. I told myself long ago that I would never walk in anyone’s shadow so, I light up my own path and let the stars guide my way.

   

• Curator's Notes

  ‘Kuro-Mura’ refers to the blackened version of Futagami ‘Ihada’ products. The black is achieved through a traditional method of applying a mixture of dark pigment and Japanese lacquer (urushi) onto the surface. The result is a saturated, textural colour.

  Crafted entirely by hand at the renowned Futagami foundry in Takaoka city, these pendant shades hang gracefully with their unique geometric forms. The “Myojo” pendant has multidimensional faceted brass surfaces. Includes pendant shade and canopy cup only.
