I am a Letter Case. On the surface, I’m composed, but inside I hold the traces of what matters most like notes, photos, keepsakes. A gentle curve at my edge invites your hand, and maybe your memory, to linger.
At first glance, this looks like a simple black box. Understated and elegant, it sits calmly on a desk or shelf. But what I love most is when the hidden parts of an object reveal something even more beautiful than what’s on the surface. This piece is a perfect example.
Inside, every detail is considered. The interior is carefully carved with Mitani-san's signature chisel marks, showing the maker’s hand in subtle, rhythmic textures. My favorite feature is a curved slot on one side, shaped almost like a small skate ramp, that makes it easy to slip your fingers in and retrieve whatever you’ve tucked away.
Whether it’s letters, postcards, photos, or keepsakes, this case turns storage into a small ritual. It’s not just a container, but a piece that celebrates the act of holding onto the things you value most.
