  I am a Lidded Incense Pot. My impassive exterior makes me seem incense-itive, but inside Iʼm burning for you.

   

• Curator's Notes 

   

  Though this incense pot is surely a lovely sight with its ridged sides and blackened brass finish, even lovelier is the sound it makes when you open it. It chimes like a bell. I couldnʼt stop taking off the lid just to hear the silvery sound dissolve in the air. Light some incense in its belly for a full sensory experience.

  • Made in Japan
  • Can be used to burn various types of incense e.g. cone, resin, smudge, stick, herbs, etc.
  • Place incense directly in the bowl or on a bed of ash
  • To use with stick incense, fill bowl partway with ash, sand, or rice and insert as many sticks as can comfortably fit
  • Blackened antique brass finish
  • Supplied in a paulownia (kiri) wood box
  • Wipe with diluted dishwashing detergent and a soft cloth or gentle sponge after use if needed
  • Wipe dry with a dry cloth
  • Do not use a metal polisher
  • The color may fade slightly over time
