  This Noir faceted piece exemplifies what makes Mitani's lacquer work next to none. Lacquer is a finish that is hard control, requiring great attention to temperature and humidity in order to keep the surface dust-free and smooth to the touch. His decisive choice of stroke direction when applying lacquer creates dancing reflections on rhythmically carved facets. This bowl has a deep amber color and thick rim walls. It is perfect for serving or as a fruit bowl.
