I am a Small Oribe Bowl. Though on the smaller side, I too can evoke the inner peace felt amongst a natural landscape.
Oribe ware has a rich history in Japanese culture, dating back to the 16th century. It differs from Chinese Celadon due to its deep, rich color that is closer to hunter green or forest green than the pale sea foam of celadon. Within the natural variations of texture, wonderful scenes of nature emerge and dissolve - mountains and hills, lakes and streams… all existing within the mysterious green glaze of this Oribe bowl. This bowl is available in three sizes. The Large is quite large and deep. It is ideal for serving salads but can also be used as an ikebana flower arranging vessel. The Medium is a wonderful size for pasta. The Small is perfect for a poke bowl or other rice dishes.
