I am a Painted House with Magnetic Object - #7. Building a house isn't paint-by-numbers. I'm made of so many layers, I've even lost count.
We are struck by the depth of the color palette built from layers upon layers of paint in Michiko Iwata's Painted House. Her thick application of paint creates a matte texture that adds warmth to her subdued yet sophisticated color palette, as well as a presence that feels well loved and lived-in. The house is meticulously constructed out of found materials from things used in day-to-day life, further driving in the idea that the things we frequently use and keep close by make up such a big part of home.
