I am a Painted House with Magnetic Object - #8. The idea of painting the town red seems like fun, but I'm too much of a home body.
We are struck by the depth of the color palette built from layers upon layers of paint in Michiko Iwata's Painted House. Her thick application of paint creates a matte texture that adds warmth to her subdued yet sophisticated color palette, as well as a presence that feels well loved and lived-in. The house is meticulously constructed out of found materials from things used in day-to-day life, further driving in the idea that the things we frequently use and keep close by make up such a big part of home.
