  I am a Pendant Light A330. They call me the Golden Bell, and I like to think I live up to the name. I may be soft around the edges, but I know how to brighten up a room.

  
  

• Curator's Notes 

  We didn't expect a change in material to make quite such a difference! The Pendant Light A330 retains the familiar silhouette of Alvar Aalto's iconic Golden Bell, yet feels like an entirely different object. Where the original is sleek and metallic, Hender Scheme's interpretation brings a softness to the form, with leather gently curving around the light.
  
  There's something particularly charming about seeing a material we usually associate with shoes, bags, and furniture used to make a lampshade. It's a wonderful example of how this collaboration can make us look at a design we've known for decades in an entirely new way.
