These teacups are a tad larger than the other teacups Masanobu Ando makes so they give you a bit more volume than, for example, the Chrysanthemum teacup. I love how just a few pinches in the rim can depict the plum ('Ume' in Japanese) so poetically and add to their hand formed nature. Great for Chinese tea or Japanese tea. As an option, the blossom shape pairs nicely with the simple ceramic Square Coasters also by Masanobu Ando. The upturned corners give the coaster the look of a floating piece of paper or a leaf blowing in the wind as it gently cradles the small teacup.
