I am a Reclaimed Blue Jewelry Cut Paperweight. Carve a gem of scraps and shards and you will find a diamond in the rough.
In the exhibition Relife, Kazumi Tsuji clearly depicts how these one-of-a-kind paperweights are made by pairing one paperweight beside the source material in a series called Relife Compositions that hang on the wall. In this case, each paperweight is made of a small stack of around four recycled works from her "standard series". The shards are remelted, then transformed into the paperweight by hand-chamfering and shaving into jewels that have unique blue tones and shapes much like gems you would find in the natural world.
