  I am Relife Composition No.2. Parts of me were bursting and shattering with excitement but I pulled them together and contained myself.
  

   

• Curator's Notes  

  This composition is part of Factory Zoomer’s exploration into the life cycle of her products as part of the Relife series. This program invites her clients to return broken items that are combined with the studio’s failed or broken works to create an item of new value. The weight of the items stacked on one side equals the weight of the Reclaimed Blue piece on the other side. Kazumi Tsuji takes the concept a step further by transforming the broken pieces into commonly perceived valuable items such as gemstones or by drawing on classic forms from porcelain-ware originating from the Lee or Qing dynasties in China. As with all of Kazumi Tsuji’s works, the pieces can be enjoyed for daily-use tableware or as a wall hanging.

  • 'Standard Series' works that are displayed on one side equal the weight of the Reclaimed Blue work on the other side to showcase the source material
  • The 'Standard Series' pieces are meant to be stacked haphazardly as an ever-changing sculpture
  • Can be displayed as artwork or used as functional daily tableware
  • Includes a box shelf with two compartments and five Factory Zoomer glassworks
  • The glassworks include a Reclaimed Blue Carved 'Wood Skin' Container, a Cow Mini-Choko, a Dot Maru Bowl and a Small Grid Ordinary Cup
  • Box shelf is wood and applied with a cool gray toned paint
  • Back of the box has a cleat for hanging
  • Bottom of each piece is etched with the Factory Zoomer signature
  • Each piece has handmade characteristics that are unique. Slight variations in form, pattern, size and opacity will occur, including natural irregularities in the glass
  • Includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Kazumi Tsuji
