  I am a Reversible Slab. Two sides are better than one.

   

• Curator's Notes 

   

  This is one of my favourite Masanobu Ando pieces for its uncommon form. The shape is irregular and everything from food to decorative objects look good displayed on the silver surface! The reverse side is matte black and is equally as beautiful.

• Details
  • Handcrafted in Tajimi, Japan
  • Food safe
  • Silver side is marked with Masanobu Ando's signature stamp
  • Upper side is silver glazed and under side is left unglazed
  • Under side is matte black
  • Silver overglaze will patina to develop a black matter over time
  • The blackish patina is harmless and is a sulfide film that occurs when silver combines with hydrogen sulfide in the air
  • The slab can be polished to remove the patina with toothpaste or baking soda and a damp cloth.
  • Handwash
  • Wipe with a cloth and dry well after use
  • Each piece is uniquely handcrafted and will have variations in size and shape
  • Do not place in dishwasher
