I am a Salt Bowl. Don't underestimate the small wooden ones. They can pack a big flavor punch.
Although it is a tiny piece in size, this bowl reflects all the human touches Ryuji Mitani imbues in his works. It has an irregular oblong oval shape and tiny little facets around the interior and exterior that reveal it's handmade qualities. It also has a thick base giving it a substantial weight to keep it from tipping over. Even though it takes up a tiny footprint at the dinner table while it holds Maldon salt flakes or other spices, it packs a lot of charm! Pair it with another charmer, the tiny Salt Spoon, also by Ryuji Mitani.
