  I am a Silver Daisy Dish. He loves me, he loves me not... Actually I’m too amazing to care, and frankly, I have no more silver petals to spare.

   

• Curator's Notes 

   

  This small daisy dish looks like it is made in a precious metal but it is actually made of ceramic with a silver overglaze. Each flower is hand formed giving the petals a delicate appearance fit to hold a sweet treat or chocolate. The luster is so dynamic as it creates patina, shifting and darkening as time passes.

  • Features Masanobu Ando's signature stamp on the bottom of the plate
  • Upper and underside is silver overglazed
  • Silver overglaze will patina to develop a black matter over time
  • The blackish patina is harmless and is a sulfide film that occurs when silver combines with hydrogen sulfide in the air
  • The tray can be polished to remove the patina with toothpaste or baking soda and a damp cloth
