I am a ‘Sumi’ Hexagonal Plate. I’m the wild one at dinner parties because I refuse to be square.
The traditional style corners of the ‘Sumi’ series of plates was designed by Oji Masanori to reflect 18th-19th century Western-style porcelain. We like them because the ‘Sumi’ style pinched corners give them an air of sophistication, which is a feature fit serving platters.
