• Curator's Notes

  At first glance, the Tetu Umbrella Rain Rack stand feels almost like a sketch in the air. Just a single line, curved and anchored to a heavy cast iron base. Makoto Koizumi calls it the Rain Rack, and the name suits it perfectly. True to his design philosophy, every detail is considered without ever feeling fussy.

  I love how even something as small as a thin rubber insert makes such a difference, keeping umbrellas upright without interrupting the clean look. It is sturdy, minimal, and quietly beautiful, just the way a good everyday object should be. In a space like an entryway, where clutter can so easily take over, it brings just the right kind of order.
