I am a Small 14cm Tetu One Hand Pan. Small but serious. I handle quick jobs one egg, a few spices, a single portion at a time, without breaking a sweat.
Makoto Koizumi’s Tetu Cookware series, featuring the Two Hand Pan, One Hand Pan 14cm, and One Hand Pan 20cm, embodies his deep commitment to designing with process in mind. His approach is never just about aesthetics. It starts with an understanding of how things are made, who is making them, and what the material can truly offer. With cast iron, every decision matters. The thickness of the walls, the length and angle of the handles, the balance in the hand, the way heat moves and lingers... all of these choices are visible in the final object, and Koizumi-san considers each one carefully.
Working closely with skilled ironworkers, he creates designs that are grounded in real use. The Two Hand Pan has a generous surface area, ideal for family-sized meals or oven-to-table dishes like baked pastas or roasted vegetables. The One Hand Pan 14cm is compact and nimble, perfect for frying a single egg, toasting spices, or preparing a small side. The One Hand Pan 20cm adds more flexibility, great for searing, sautéing, or cooking for two. Together, they form a considered set, each size serving a clear role in everyday cooking.
