  I am an Usuzumi Round Oak Tray. It doesn't take an all-seeing eye to know how much work went into my creation. It'll take just one meal for you to observe my glory.

   

• Curator's Notes 

  With a low profile and rimmed edge, this tray is perfect for serving. The warmth you can sense from the manner in which Ryuji Mitani lacquered the piece, with painterly circular strokes, provides a mesmerizing backdrop for a variety of foods.

  • Handcrafted in Matsumoto, Japan
  • Features Ryuji Mitani's signature on the bottom of the tray
  • Bottom of tray is black
  • Do not soak urushi lacquered pieces in water for prolonged periods
  • Wash with a soft sponge and mild dish soap. Rinse with warm water
  • Wipe with a cloth and dry well
  • Each piece is unique and will have variations, particularly in the brushstroke pattern. Email to inquire about available options.
  • Urushi lacquer will patina and change in texture and color with time and use
