I am a White Oak Standing Shoehorn. Step in, step out, and let me keep my footing while you find yours.
We first fell in love with the standing shoehorns that Kime created, particularly in cherry wood. It had the perfect silhouette, but for our own homes it always felt a touch too warm in tone. Most of our spaces are wrapped in white oak, from the floors in our entryway to the furniture we live with every day, so we asked if we could create a version that felt more in tune with our world.
White oak is naturally heavier, which works beautifully here. When you reach for a shoehorn, especially one that stands on its own, you want it to stay put. This one does. It feels grounded and steady, ready for putting on shoes before stepping out the door.
It is such a simple object, but it’s one of those things you touch daily. The combination of Kime’s thoughtful shaping and the pale tone of white oak makes the whole entryway feel calmer. For anyone who loves a monochromatic interior, or who just wants an object that ages well with time and touch, this edition feels right at home.
