  I am a White Urushi Shinogi Pitcher. Marked with ridges of narrow carved bands, I'll help you get a grip when you pour from out my lip.
  

   

• Curator's Notes 

   

  The ridged texture of this vessel is what makes it special. Holding it in your hand feels so right. When Mitani explained that the reason behind the 7.5cm diameter was because it fit the human hand so well, we understood exactly what he meant the second we picked it up. The diameter is also the same as a beer bottle - easy to grip with one had.
