I am a Vase. Transformation to me is one of the most satisfying things. It can take what once was dead and allow for new life to spring.
Considered damaged to some, designer Yamazaki Yoshiki has transformed Japanese oak that’s been naturally weathered, discoloured and insect-bored, into everyday useful objects. The grooved channels, small holes and winding dark striations in the spalted wood vary to create a one-of-a-kind piece.
