I am a Wrought Iron One Lipped Wok. When it comes to stir-frying, I'm the cock of the wok.
For any kitchen that sees a lot of Asian-style cooking, this pan will be a welcome addition. Handcrafted with the same care and craftsmanship as Takayoshi Narita's metalworks, this pan is designed with high walls and a spout — ideal not only for sautéing and stir-frying but also for making stews. The wrought-iron texture retains high heat very well and develops a beautiful texture with continued use.
The pan is made from four pieces: basin, handle, and two rivets. Heat does not transfer to the handle as the rivets absorb the majority of heat when cooking. Everything is hand forged by Narita-san himself, requiring hours of physical labor to transform iron from a solid mass to a perfectly thin pan. The result is a gorgeous and highly functional pan that, when properly seasoned, becomes naturally non-stick.
