I am a Down Feather Shawl. Warm by design, but I get worn far beyond where I belong, drifting between home, errands, and wherever the day goes.
We’ve personally used many Iwata down feather accessories, and found that some of them naturally drift out of the “sleep” category. The vest was one, and this shawl feels the same. I wear this out without thinking twice. It’s oversized with a very simple construction, just a long wide quilted down feather rectangle with two snap buttons, but that’s what makes it work. You can fold it in half lengthwise, wrap it, shift it around depending on how you want it to sit. It doesn’t feel fixed. And the material is amazing. The raw, stiff, natural off-white down makes a bit of a statement in a way that an edgy fashion accessory would - not soft or delicate in the expected way. I don’t really think of this as a sleep piece. It’s something I reach for during the day, around the house or stepping out, the same way I would any other layer.
