I am an Oak Toothpick Case. Straight-laced, clean-cut, and here to keep your essentials in line. I’m basically the hall monitor of your pocket.
We’ve been representing the Tanno family since the very beginning of our gallery, and these little cases sum up everything we love about their work. We worked with the son, Masakage Tanno, to create toothpick cases that are just a bit longer than the original versions we used to carry so they can hold a wider range of items. They’re small and intricate, precise and beautifully made, and we find ourselves admiring them every time they’re in someone’s hands. Officially they’re for toothpicks, but over the years we’ve learned that people tuck all kinds of small essentials inside. They’re discreet, practical, and surprisingly adaptable.
Each wood type has its own personality, from warm cherry to pale maple, neutral oak to deep walnut, and the pinch opening mechanism with a sliding insert is crafted with the kind of accuracy that only comes from decades of woodworking. It is genuinely satisfying to pinch open.
