In a region known for its elegant lacquerware, Wajima Kirimoto stands out for making the highly prized commodity accessible and applicable in daily life. For more than 200 years, the Kirimoto family have specialized in wajima lacquer, as well as wood carving since 1929. Now in its 7th generation under the direction of Taichi Kirimoto, the company combine the beauty and strength of lacquer with their meticulous wood work in a line of tableware designed for daily use. Using aged lumber for its workability and water resistance and applying a "glass" finish to further seal and highlight the unique wood grains, Wajima Kirimoto ensure that their wood products last through many uses and age.
