I am a set of Stool 60 Shoes. I put my best foot forward, even when I’m standing still.
Of all the details in the Artek and Hender Scheme collaboration, these little leather shoes might be our favorite! Ryo Kashiwazaki originally developed the idea for an earlier children's chair, and later revisited it while working on Aalto's Stool 60. He felt that covering the seat in leather wasn't quite enough, and the shoes became the finishing touch.
Beyond their wonderful sense of humor, they're surprisingly practical. Each shoe slips over a furniture leg, protecting the floor without the need for those little felt pads that inevitably collect dust or fall off. Made from leather, they'll also develop their own character with use. Available in sets of three or four, they're a delightful way to give an existing piece of classic furniture an entirely new personality.
