Yuichi Takemata’s handcrafted metalwork adds to Kanazawa’s legacy of being the center of traditional arts and crafts in Japan. Drawing on his background in restoring antique jewelry, Takemata’s line of hammered tableware brings the beauty of aging to the rituals of everyday life. His stainless steel cutlery and plates are hammered and finished by hand to develop a weathered texture and patina similar to well-worn copper and brass. Built for daily use, each piece will age with grace to become the much-loved vintage that they were inspired by.
