There's nothing like a fresh set of white sheets! These cotton sheets have a different feel from the linen ones. Smoother, a bit more structured, and especially nice right after a wash. There’s a light crispness to them that feels cool against the skin, and over time it softens without losing that clean feeling.
The fabric itself is tightly woven, which gives it a slightly denser touch. It holds up well with regular use and is easy to live with day to day.
From there, the pieces are straightforward.
We use the flat sheet as a traditional layer placed between the body and the duvet. It adds a light, breathable layer, especially when you want something cooler against the skin. It can also be used to wrap the futon floor pad for added protection, though it isn’t necessary. In Japan, the floor pad is often left uncovered.
The fitted sheet is made for the mattress pad, but also comes in US mattress sizes. With elasticated corners it easy to pull on and off. It keeps everything in place and makes washing simple.
The Pillowcase Small is designed for smaller pillows or the Camel Hair Pillow. The Pillowcase Large is designed for standard size pillows like the Down and Feather and Feather Pillow. The smoother surface of the cotton feels especially clean against the face.
